Merton Wilkins

Merton L. Wilkins, 80, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017. He was born and raised in Maine, one of 14 children. He served in the US Army and then settled in Connecticut where he married the late Patricia Yost. He worked hard labor all his life as a Mason and provided for his family. He leaves behind his children Laura Varney, Blaine Wilkins, companion Fran Smith, Valerie Carlson and husband Frank, Eric Wilkins and companion Diane Strouth and youngest daughter Erin Wilkins. Three grandsons; Blaine Wilkins Jr., Robbie Varney and family, Roger Varney and family, many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his special companion Pat Murphy. Merton enjoyed many things in life especially his family, the Red Sox’s and playing cards with many friends. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 between 10am-11:30am at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect Street, Rockville.
