Roy Grabowski Obituary

Roy Chester Grabowski, 69, formerly of Rockville and Manchester, beloved husband of Lynette Dauphin Grabowski, died Monday, June 12, 2017 at his home in New Port Richey, FL after a long illness. Roy and Lynette were married for 39 years. He was born in Rockville on September 7, 1947, son of Chester and Stella (Kalina) Grabowski. Roy went to school in Rockville, where he met his future wife Lynette. Roy graduated from Rockville High School, Easter Connecticut State University, and the University of Connecticut. He taught in the Vernon School System for 39 years, mostly at Lake Street School. Roy was an avid bingo player and made many friends at the Rockville bingos. He also had a passion for antiques, collectibles, and flea markets, which he learned from his father. He is survived by his brother Richard Grabowski and his wife Mary and their four children, twins Mark and Glen Hodgson, Joel Hodgson, and Gail Liezwski. Also surviving is his Aunt Jay and Uncle Horace Burnham and many cousins. He was especially close to his Zavarella cousins, Steven, Tom and his wife Patty, and Janis and her husband Ken Butler. He also leaves his precious cat, Lilly. He was predeceased by his cousin William Zavarella and wife Joanna. Friends and relatives may join the family on Saturday, June 17 between 9am-11am with an 11am Funeral Home Service at the Small & Pietras Funeral Home, 65 Elm Street, Rockville, CT.
