Edwin C. Boczar, 87, of Vernon, beloved widower of Pauline (Kucz) Boczar, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Fox Hill Center. He was born July 21, 1929 to the late Stanley and Antonina (Hynor) Boczar. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Hamilton Standard as a Mechanical Engineer, he was proud to have worked on the life support system for the astronauts for the first moon walk. Ed enjoyed Bingo, trips to Foxwood, watching horse racing, traveling playing golf and dancing. He had a passion for renovation projects in his homes. He is survived by his son, James Boczar from Jacksonville, FL; his daughter, Janice Marcham of Vernon, his sister-in-law, Helen Boczar of Windsor; his grandchildren, Ashley MacDougall and her husband Dave, Jason Boczar and his wife Amanda, Heather Boczar and his great-grandson Noah. Besides his wife, he was pre-deceased by his siblings, Adolph and Laura Butcher; his son-in-law Stephen Marcham and his daughter-in-law Lisa Boczar. Relatives and friends may join the family on Sunday, March 5, 2017, from 3 – 5 pm at Small & Pietras Funeral Home, 65 Elm St, Rockville. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, March 6, 2017 at St. Joseph Church, 33 West St, Rockville. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Rockville.
