Frank E. Laskowski, 85, of Ellington, beloved husband of the late F. Barbara (McMahon) Laskowski, peacefully passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012. He was born February 2, 1927 in Suffield, the son of the late Joseph and Barbara (Siemionko) Laskowski. He resided for the past year with his daughter and son-in-law in Coventry. He was a member of the American Legion Post 14 Vernon for many years, the TKB Club also for many years and the PAC Club. He adored his family and treasured his daughter and her husband and his grandchildren. He was known for his sense of humor and sarcasm. He is survived by his daughter, L. Gay Schecker and her husband, Ira of Coventry; his grandchildren, Christopher M. Getz and his fiancé, Allison French of Bristol and Melissa A. Getz of Ellington; and his sisters, Helen Geromiller and Nellie Salisbury both of Enfield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife of 44 years, he is predeceased by his sisters, Josephine Kos, Mary Mastalaz, Martha Laskowski and Frances E. Laskowski. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 10 to 11 AM on Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St. Rockville, CT 06066. A Funeral Home Service will follow at 11 AM at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Rockville.
