Phyllis (Quintal) Lassen, 80, of Canton, beloved wife of Dennis Lassen, died Thursday, October 12, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. She was born July 13, 1937 in Collinsville, daughter of the late Richardson L. and Mildred (Griffith) Quintal and had been a lifelong resident of Canton/Collinsville. She was a member of the Collinsville Congregational Church and the Women’s Auxiliary of the Collinsville Fire Department. Phyllis loved to take photographs, play scrabble and word games, enjoyed ceramics, spending time in Vermont and the Cape, singing and playing her organ and most of all loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Besides her loving husband of 61 years, she is survived by her children, Richard Lassen, Robin Leavitt and her husband Rick and Lorri Zils and her husband Joe, all of Canton, Lisa O’Donnell and her husband John of Waterbury, Colleen Roche and her husband P.J. of South Carolina and Dennis Lassen, Jr. and his wife Barbara of New York; her siblings, Marion Dooley and her husband John, Joan Boehm and Philip Quintal and his wife Caroline; her sister-in-law, Donna Scheidel and her husband Bill; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her in-laws, Jessie and Lawrence Lassen, her brothers-in-law, Frank Boehm, and Robert Lassen and his wife Shirley. The family would like to acknowledge McLean Hospice Home Care for the wonderful loving and compassionate care given to our Mom, Phyllis, as well as the kindness and emotional support given to the family. A memorial service will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25th at the Collinsville Congregational Church.
