Ralph Peling Simsbury, Connecticut Obituary

Ralph Peling

Ralph Peling, 69, of Simsbury died unexpectedly Sunday, June 15, 2008 at home. He was a long time employee of Combustion Engineering in Windsor before retiring in 1999. During those many years he was primarily a Nuclear Fuel Bundle Assembler. At one point he served as the President of the local Teamsters Union. After retirement he continued to work, following up on his life long interest and support of the Boy Scouts of America by working at the Scout Shop in East Hartford until last year when his health forced him to finally rest. His passions included a lifelong love of the New York Mets. He took great pride in being able to fix things himself. Ralph loved woodworking, camping, scouting and just being outdoors, having recently taken up gardening. His sense of humor, his work ethic and his thoughtfulness will all be greatly missed. Ralph grew up in up-state New York, one of 13 brothers and sisters. He moved to Connecticut in the early 1960’s. He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Marjorie and siblings, James, Ted, Robert, Blanche Nash and Mary Hall. He is survived by his sisters, Alice Cain, Betty Storesburg, Marjorie Carpenter, Linda Dishman, Clara Bush and Sally Matuszczak as well as many much loved nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his wife and best friend of 17 years, Patricia of Simsbury; his mother-in-law, Doris Luma of Florida and ten children, David Peling of Granby, Diane Brown of York, ME, Robert Peling of Wethersfield, Kathie Courser and John Klemonsky of Granby, Tim Klemonsky of Newport, RI, James Klemonsky of Florida and Steve Klemonsky, Susan Fedorjaczenko and Paul Klemonsky all of Simsbury as well as more than 20 grandchildren whom he adored and loved to spend time with. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be celebrated Thursday, June 19, 10:00 a.m. at South Congregational Church, 242 Salmon Brook Street, Granby with the Reverend Denny P. Moon officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Vincent Funeral Home, Simsbury is assisting the family with the arrangements.
