Clarence Beaupre

Clarence A. Beaupre, 94, of Tolland, beloved husband of Agatha (Cyr) Beaupre passed away at his home on Sunday, January 26. He was born August 14, 1919 in Grand Isle, Maine, the son of the late Jean and Marie (Martin) Beaupre. He worked for the Boston & Maine Railroad Company before serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII and was employed by Hamilton Standard for 30 years. He was a communicant of St. Matthews Church in Tolland, an active member of the New England Association of Chief of Police, and a life member of the VFW Post 15007. He was an honorary member of the Hartford Country Sheriffs Association, Franco-American War Veterans, American Legion, and a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Besides his devoted wife Agatha of 66 years, Clarence is survived by his sister, Anne Chasse of Madawaska, ME; his four children, Elaine Beaupre Lazlo, Jean Beaupre Carlson , James Beaupre and wife Lisa Brooks, George Beaupre and wife Bela; six grandchildren, Mathew and Andrew Lazlo, Amy and Amanda Carlson, Alex and Michael Beaupre. He also leaves two dear friends Dennis Carlson , who was always there when he or the family needed him, And Sean McHugh who was also always ready to help whenever need arouse. There are many nieces and nephews and cousins who are also left to mourn .... But also to rejoice in his life. Clarence will always be remembered for his green thumb and love of gardening - especially the raspberry and tomato crops he harvested year after year that surrounded his homes. He was always the joker of the family and humor followed him . Clarence was very proud he served his country in WWII and shared so many of his war stories with the family . We maintained our pride for him and the love of his country . His love for woodworking and being outdoors continued until he became frail at the age of 92. He was predeceased by six brothers and three sisters and has gone to join them in the heavens : Gilbert Beaupre , Omer ( Bernie ) Beaupre, Addis Beaupre, Guy Beaupre, Roger Beaupre , Emelien Beaupre , Gertrude Beaupre Beaulieu, Della Beaupre Kaliris and Bertha Beaupre Cyr . They are reunited and we know there will be a great party ❤️ Holy sniffin- piffin as he would say ! Relatives and friends may join the family Wednesday, January 29 from 5 - 7 pm at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Rd, Tolland. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday, January 30 at 10am at St. Matthews Church, Tolland. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Rockville. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Tolland Fire Department and home care givers - Ben, Cori and Julie for their support during the past year . Without their support it would have been impossible to keep him at home surrounded by the people who loved him.
