Francis Cacciatore

Francis C. Cacciatore, 91, of Tolland, beloved husband of 63 years to Jean P. (Plummer) Cacciatore passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 2, 1922 in Waltham, MA the son of the late Carmello and Josephine (Messina) Cacciatore. Besides his bride he is survived by his children; Gary and Donna Cacciatore of Las Vegas, NV, Diane and Frank Donatoni of Birchrunville, PA, and Robert and Tamarra Cacciatore of East Hartford, CT. His grand-children; Jennifer, Kyle, Micaela and Walker and his great grand-child Beatrice. He is also survived by his sister Sarah Cacciatore of Tolland. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his sister Phyllis Sullivan. Frank was a wonderful husband and father; he was proud to serve his country as a Marine during WWII and was noted for saying that those were some of the best years of his life. Frank enjoyed bowling and golf as a member of the P&WA leagues and loved the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball in Tolland and truly enjoyed planting and growing vegetables in his garden with his wife. He was an avid reader and spent many hours at the library searching for his favorite westerns. Frank also worked for Pratt and Whitney and SWEFT for 38 years as an airplane mechanic and foreman. Frank was well loved and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Rockville General Hospital ICU and the Visiting Nurses for all of their kind and special care. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Friday October 18, 2013 from 5-7pm at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home. A Funeral home service will take place at 11am, Saturday, October 18, 2013 at Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Rd. Tolland CT 06084. Burial with military honors will follow at South Cemetery Tolland. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Francis' name to the Visiting Nurse and Heath Services 8 Keynote Drive Vernon, CT 06066
