Harry Stone Obituary

Harry A. Stone, 82, of Tolland, beloved husband of Barbara (Bradway) Stone, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017. He was born February 12, 1935 in Hartford, son of the late Harry and Mildred (Cooke) Stone. He served in the U.S. Army chemical and biological warfare unit for two years. He was a Constable in Tolland and a member of the Tolland Fire Department. He was a mason for over 60 years and a member of the Orient Lodge No. 62 in East Hartford/Columbia Lodge No. 25 in South Glastonbury. He retired from HP Hood & Sons after 43 years. He loved fishing, hunting, and watching UConn girl’s basketball. He also enjoyed playing cards and billiards at the Tolland Senior Center. Besides his loving wife of 60 years, Harry is survived by his children Donna Elizabeth Stone Mohr and her husband Kevin of Coventry and William Arthur Stone and his wife Dianne of Ellington. He also leaves his grandchildren and their spouses Joshua (Elizabeth), Timothy (Sabrina), Michelle (David) and Mandy (Scottie), and his nine great grandchildren Emma, Ava, Cora and Tessa Bertrand, Lily and Timothy Stone, Scottie Church and Jillian and Melanie Stone. He is also survived by his sisters Barbara Dresser of East Hartford and Roberta North and her husband Harold of Richmond, VA as well as several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are welcomed on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 4-7 pm at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road (Rt. 195), Tolland, CT 06084. A funeral service will be held at the United Congregational Church of Tolland, 45 Tolland Green, Tolland on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 10 am. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Tolland.
