Henri Wilson

Mr. Henri G. Wilson, 93, of Tolland, passed away peacefully on Jan. 31, 2017 at Woodlake of Tolland. He is survived by his children, Sandra Tourtellotte, of Manchester; Judith Wood, and husband Robert Wood, of Westerly, RI; Janice Higgins, of Tolland, and James Wilson, of Hartford; his grandchildren, Lori Lottier, Christopher Lottier, Matthew Nichols, Jerome Martin, James Higgins, Margaret Higgins, Adam Wilson and Heather Wilson; his niece, Susan Kusmanoff; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Barbara (Reardon) Wilson, in 2010; his sister, Marie Kusmanoff, of Pennsylvania, in 2009, and his brother-in-law, Paul Kusmanoff, in 2015.Henri was born Oct. 10, 1923, in Essex, CT, to the late Henry and Lillian (Bailey) Wilson. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. Henri was a family man who enjoyed the simple things in life, outdoor activities, photography, woodworking, his dogs, long drives and the beach. He worked all of his adult life for Sun Oil. He will always be remembered for his love of life, his big heart and contagious smile. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Woodlake of Tolland for the wonderful care they provided Henri during the final years of his life, and give special thanks to his former caregiver, and family friend, Nancy DeAlba, who made it possible for him to stay in his beloved home until he moved to Woodlake. Relatives and friends may join the family on Saturday, February 18, 2017 for a 10 a.m. Service at Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road, Tolland.
