Among my many fond memories of Jean were of her lovely flowers, some cuttings of which she shared with me including Snow in Summer which I loved. Her roses were spectacular. She could sew beautifully, and made for me a patchwork cover for my standing mixer. After probably 40 years and even after I moved to Welles, my mixer still had that pretty cover on it. Jim took home to his mother-in-law that mixer recently and I hope the cover went too even if it was showing its age a bit. Jean shared patterns for Barbie doll clothes, and she knitted sweaters for my nieces' Barbies, one pink and one white. When I first moved to Welles, she sat in the dining room with me when I knew nobody else here yet, even though I expect it was an effort for her to do so. I'll always remember Jean with love and I was so fortunate to be her neighbor and friend for 56 years.
My condolences to the Cacciatore family. I'll always remember the times when your mom would go to the hair salon next door to my office in south Windsor. Your dad would stop in my office waiting for your mom. Then Mrs. C would stop in my office b/c your dad would forget to pick her up. I'm sorry for your loss, Gary, Dee and Bob.
