Jean Emily (Flynn) Pollansky, 79, of Coventry, beloved wife of the late Emil Pollansky, passed away peacefully with her sons by her side Thursday May 14, 2015, at Hartford Hospital. Mrs. Pollansky was born April 30, 1936 daughter of the late Furlong H. Flynn and Doris Jessie (Davis) Flynn. She was raised in Tolland and graduated from Rockville High School and Lasell College in Newton, MA. Jean worked for the Coventry Grammar School as a teacher’s aide and continued to work as an aide in Cortland, NY where her husband Emil was the Plant Manager of Cortland Line. They resided in Cortland, NY for fourteen years. She enjoyed vacationing in Misquamicut, RI and camping in VT with her sons in their younger years. After their retirement they loved spending time and vacationing in Charlestown, RI. Jean loved her flower gardens and her fur babies Izzy and Socks. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, Uconn Girls basketball and the NY Yankees as well as making crafting projects. She is survived by her Sons Raymond S. of Coventry and Bruce H. and his wife Deborah of Coventry, and the light of her life, her one and only grandchild, Michael “Harry”. Her Brother John Flynn and nephew Jack and his wife Susan. She was predeceased by her husband Emil R. Pollansky and her parents Furlong and “Jessie” Flynn. Her family will receive friends Wednesday May 20, between the hours of 4pm – 7pm at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home. A service will be held 10am Thursday May 21, Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road (Rt. 195) , Tolland, CT with burial to follow at South Cemetery, Tolland. The family would like to thank the Visiting Angels staff for their kindness and support.
