Jean P. (Zimmerman) Waterhouse, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the age of 75. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Elva (Clements) Heberling. She was predeceased by her beloved late husband of thirty-eight years, Charles A. Waterhouse, Jr. She was a long time resident of Tolland, where she and Charles raised their four children. Jean worked in the insurance industry her entire professional career. She began her career at Aetna as a Computer Programmer but eventually retired from The Hartford as a Senior Systems Analyst. Her favorite hobbies included baking, gardening, crocheting, and cross-stitch. She was a giver; someone who sought out opportunities to do nice things for others. She got so much enjoyment from cooking a nice meal for her family or crocheting blankets for her grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and wife who always put her family first. Jean will be dearly missed by so many, but especially by her four children and their spouses: Elaine Waterhouse Wilson and husband Jim of West Virginia; Matthew Waterhouse and wife Brenda of Coventry; Andrea Poulter and husband Todd of Coventry; and Laura House and husband Jeff of Tolland; her seven grandchildren: Catherine Wilson, Maya and Corey Waterhouse, Evan and Danica Poulter, and Jocelyn and Kayla House; her sister Joan Luksic of North Carolina; her brother John Zimmerman of Pennsylvania, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean also leaves behind a very special friend, Clay Rizor of Lehigh Acres, Florida, who was a devoted companion to her for the past sixteen years. Donations in Jean's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Relatives and friends may join the family on Thursday, November 16, 2017 between 4:30pm-6:30pm at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road, Tolland. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11am at St. Matthew's Church, 111 Tolland Green, Tolland. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
