Leann Marchelle (Youngs) Ching, 55, of Ashford, CT, passed away, April 27, 2014. She was born March 30, 1959 to Shirley (Cean) and Frank Youngs. She also attended Ledyard High School, 1973-1976, and graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1977, and later attended the Rhode Island School of Design. Leann was married to Lawrence Ching on September 30, 2000. Leann was a loving wife and mother, who had a generous heart. This generosity of heart led her to pursue endeavors as an EMT, a volunteer firefighter, a phlebotomist, and animal lover and rescuer. She was an avid gardener, hostess, and artist, who had natural talents in in all these areas. She taught music for many years and she also participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Leann’s love for her children and grandchildren will always be remembered. Leann is survived by her husband Lawrence Ching; her son, Nicholas MacCarthy; her daughter, Kristin MacCarthy Tamburo; and her four grandchildren, Antonio, Elijah, Robert, and John. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Rd. (Rte. 195) Tolland, CT.
