Michael Coutant

Michael David Coutant, 51, died at Manchester Memorial Hospital on June 3, 2017, surrounded by his family, although he fought bravely for 6 weeks from ITP, he was unable to overcome this. Michael was born on July 27, 1965 in Westerly RI to Sandra Coutant of Tolland, and the late Gene Coutant. Michael attended Tolland High School and later received his culinary certificate. He was employed by Adchem Technology in Manchester. Michael was blessed with the gift of gab, and was always able to entertain people with his humor and charm. He was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and the Nascar circuit. Michael also enjoyed fishing, drawing and wood working. Mike was a very giving person and was there for anyone who needed him. He was always the first to lend a hand. Mike will be sorely missed by anyone who knew him. Besides his mother, Sandra Coutant, Mike leaves his sister, Kelly Smayda and her husband Greg, of Tolland, his brother, Scott Coutant and his wife Sue, of Marlborough, his brother, Chris Coutant and his wife Kelly of Tolland. Mike also leaves his nieces and nephews Devyn, Demoris and Brodey Coutant of Marlborough and Nick and Taylor Coutant of Tolland. He was predeceased by this father, Gene Coutant, who passed away in 2013. Mike also leaves his beloved cats Midnight and Misty. A special thanks to the doctors and nurses in the intensive care unit at Manchester Memorial Hospital, especially Debra, for their care and compassion for Mike and his family. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Rd., Tolland, CT.
