Robert Saunders

Saunders- Robert E. Saunders, 76, of Danielson, formerly of Willington, beloved husband of Irma (Beaulieu) Saunders, passed away Tuesday Oct 16, 2012. He was born Sept 5, 1936 in Hartford the son of the late Clarence and Beatrice (Fontenault) Saunders. He was an US Marine Corp veteran of the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement he was a self employed Food Vender in the Hartford area for over 25 years serving Saunders Fine Foods. He was a member of the NCRCC Radio Control Club of Ellington. Besides his wife of 53 years he is survived by his children Christine Saunders of Danielson, Cheryl Lefabvre of Mystic, Richard Saunders of Willington, Robert Saunders of East Hampton, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three sisters Blanche Reiss, Judy Schutz, Janet Glass, one brother Daniel Saunders, several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may join the family Friday Oct 19th from 6 to 8 Pm at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home 375 Merrow Rd (RT 195). A graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday Oct 20, 2012 at 10 AM in Willington Hill Cemetery.
