Valerie J. Escott, aged 66, passed away at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN due to complications associated with ovarian cancer on June 8, 2020. She was born in October 1953, in Buffalo, NY to Neldon Fleck and Pyretta Brooks (later remarried). She married her true Love, Thomas Escott, in 2001 in Antigua. Tom preceded her in death in 2010. Valerie was a devout Christian. She was active with her church and regularly gave to Christian charities. More importantly, she truly believed and cared for her family through the lens of her faith. That will be sorely missed. Her favorite Bible verse was: Psalm 46:10 - Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Valerie loved people; she sewed, knitted, and quilted constantly for the people in her life. The wool socks were the best. She was also an artist painting and sketching whenever she could. Valerie also had a very successful career in IT, primarily with The Hartford. She rose to the level of Director, IT Delivery Lead. Valerie earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Westfield State College in 1996, and a Master of Business Administration Management Information Systems from Western New England University in 2001. Valerie is survived by her sister Susan Schenck, her husband Michael Schenck, her brother David Brooks, and Valerie's daughter Michelle Blackburn, her husband Chris, her sons Brandon Gilbert, his wife Jennifer Veit, Mark Escott, his wife Tova Suddarth and Jeff Escott. Valerie’s children also gave her many grandchildren. Please join us celebrating her life on the 11th of July at the South Cemetery in Tolland, CT at 10 AM.
