William Shelsky Tolland, Connecticut Obituary

William Shelsky

William “Bill” Shelsky of Tolland passed away March 24, 2015. He was born in Hartford on May 23, 1935, son of the late John and Katherine (Kowalski) Shelsky. Bill was a graduate of Rockville High Class of 1954. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was also a supervisor for Connecticut Hardface and Metallizing until his retirement. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and an avid fan of UConn Men’s Basketball and The New England Patriots, but mostly everyone knew his greatest love was golf. He was a Life Member of the Rockville Elks Lodge #1359 and Italian Social Club of Rockville, also past member of the American Society of Metals. Bill will always be remembered for his warm and friendly personality, his little jokes and quips, and calling people “smiley” just to see them smile - - even the grumpiest. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret “Peg” Shelsky of 55 years, his sons Todd of Tolland and Christopher of Stafford Springs; his grandson Christopher Jr. of Vernon; his sister Irene Tolisano of Ellington; his brother John and wife June of Lancaster, PA, and four nieces and their families. Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Rd, Tolland, CT 06084 is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. For online condolences please visit www.pietrasfuneralhome.com
