THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AN CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF BARBARA HOULE. WATERBURY, CT – Mrs. Barbara J. Houle, age 88 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after an extended illness. She was the widow of Roger A. Houle. Barbara was born February 13, 1929 in Waterbury CT, the daughter of the late John and Rose (Cronin) Cleary. Barbara spent many years working for the City of Waterbury as a Nurses Aid in several of the district schools. She enjoyed crocheting, spending winters in Florida and summers in the Berkshires but was always happiest while spending time with her family. She was a parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church. A dedicated mother. grandmother and friend, Barbara will be greatly missed by all who knew and were blessed to have known her. Barbara is survived by her sons, Robert Houle and his wife, Maria of Miami FL, Raymond Houle and his wife, Susan of Southington, her daughters; Diane Houle of Becket, MA with whom she shared her home, and Carol Gunnoud and her husband, John of Naugatuck. She is also survived by her daughter in-law, Patricia Houle of Prospect, her brother, Jack Cleary and his wife, Maryellen of Southbury, her nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and her longtime friends Erma and Carlo Bonvissuto. She was predeceased by her son, Roger R. Houle. Funeral services for Mrs. Houle will be held on Tuesday, November 21, at 10:30 am from Eastside Memorial “A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center” 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to Saints Peter and Paul Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Barbara’s family on Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 till 10:30 a.m. To honor Barbara’s memory, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Mission of Waterbury, Inc.
