THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF THOMAS KALCZNSKI OAKVILLE – Thomas W. Kalcznski age 70 of the Buckingham Group Home, Oakville, formerly of Prospect, passed away peacefully at home in Oakville with his family by his side after a brief illness. Tom was born on December 11, 1948 in Waterbury CT, the son of the late Joseph and Sally (Obarowski) Kalcznski. He was educated in local schools and was a longtime member of the work crews at WARC. He was an accomplished year round Special Olympian and participated in the 1991 World Games where he received a bronze medal in bowling. Tom was always the life of the party, singing at all of the family events. Tom was funny, sarcastic, witty, and wise. He enriched the lives of all who knew him, teaching many lessons about life and empathy. He will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him. Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy are his brother, Richard Kalcznski and his wife, Francesca of Prospect, with whom Tom made his home for many years before joining the group home, his loving niece Stacey and her husband Dan Orlowski and great nephew and niece, Cole and Kalina Orlowski. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his house mates and the incredibly loving extended family and staff at Buckingham who made his life so much better and comfortable these last few years. . Funeral services for Mr. Kalcznski will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 9:30.a.m from Casey’s Eastside Memorial.1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to St. Anthony’s R.C. Church, Prospect Center to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Tom’s family on Tuesday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 and again on Wednesday morning from 8:30 till 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may make a donation in his name to WARC 1929 East Main St. Waterbury, Ct. 06705.
