Janeth Hendron

Janeth “Jan” (Provencal) Hendron, 86, of Wethersfield and Black Point, loving wife of 64 years to her high school sweetheart Joseph “Joe” Hendron; peacefully passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 in St. Francis Hospice Care Unit surrounded by her loving family. Jan was born, September 12, 1932, one of ten children to the late Gustave and Mary (Johnson) Provencal. She was raised in Hartford, attended Hartford Schools, graduating from Bulkeley High School, Class of 1950. Not only did Jan grow up in Hartford, she was employed by the City of Hartford Board of Education as a Computer Technician and Trouble-Shooter for many years retiring in 1994. Jan was a devout Catholic, an active member and Eucharistic Minister of St. Patrick and St. Anthony Church, Hartford and its Ladies Guild, a Justice of the Peace. She attended Catholic Biblical School (CBS) of the Archdiocese of Hartford, where she completed a four-year Bible study course. After her retirement in 1994, Jan needed to be active. She took up the sport of Golf to which she excelled in, winning many trophies. She was a member of the Wethersfield Woman’s’ Golf League and the Jupiter Dunes Florida Country Club. In addition to golf, Jan became a world traveler, visiting such destinations as Germany, Sweden, the Panama Canal to name a few. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving family. Along with her husband Joe, Jan will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her four children with their spouses, Kelly and Carey Linkovich, Lynn and Tony Macri, Joe and Michelle Hendron and Tim Hendren; seven adored grandchildren, Jaimie Michaud, Jillian Linkovich, Kristin Marcri, Jonathan Macri, Noah Hendron, Chloe Hendron and Timothy Joseph Hendron; two cherished great-grandchildren, Michael and Lucciano; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Jan was predeceased by an infant daughter, Janeth Mary, who has always been her special angel; her nine siblings, Virgil (Rosealma) Provencal, Leo (Brother Francis) Provencal, Loretta (John) Reichardt, Evelyn Provencal, Bertrand (Pat) Provencal, Thelma (Chester) Govang, Leona Provencal, Edna Provencal and Theresa (Thomas) Weldon. Jan was a long-time friend of Bill W’s. The Hendron family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and excellent staff, especially including the Hospice Care Unit at St. Francis Hospital, all of who tenderly cared for Janeth. As Jan will always be remembered for her bright, caring and loving personality, the family requests that attendees wear bright colors for services. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Hendron family Monday, July 29, 2019 from 3-6pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Jan’s life will be Tuesday, July 30th at 10am in St. Patrick & St. Anthony Church, 285 Church St., Hartford (Attendees are asked to go directly to the church). Interment will follow the Mass in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section G), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield.
