A Time To Be Born – Eva Lorraine Batson Bolden was born on August 7, 1932, in Finchville, Maryland, to the late Geneva Batson Cephas. A Time To Love – On April 18, 1968, Lorraine married George Edward Bolden. From this union five children were born. She loved her family dearly. A Time To Live – Her early Christian life began at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church. She sang in the church choir and was a former member of the United Methodist Women. She attended the Dorchester County Public Schools. Her last place of employment was at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, in Seaford, Delaware. Watching Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune and Judge Judy were some of her favorite pastimes. She also enjoyed shopping and attending the Hurlock Senior Center to play dominoes and bingo and to fellowship with her friends. A Time To Rest In Peace – Lorraine went to be with our Heavenly Father on October 14, 2019, at the age of 87. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, George Bolden; mother, Geneva Cephas; sons, Carlos Batson and Linwood Bolden; grandson, LeVar Batson; and sister, Vivian Batson. Lorraine leaves to cherish fond memories, three daughters, Georgia Davis of East New Market, MD, Faye Batson of Cambridge, MD and Cynthia Stanley (Gordon) of Seaford, DE; 12 grandchildren, one of whom she raised as her own, Vonetta Batson Cornish (Milton) of Cambridge, MD; 22 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren; one brother, William Batson of Finchville, MD; two sisters-in-law, Gertina Batson of Finchville, MD and Catherine Lewis of Rhodesdale, MD; special friends, Rachel Lee, Verona Waller, Lillian Collins and Sherita Cottom, all of Federalsburg, MD and Shirley Jackson of Cambridge, MD; attendees at the Hurlock Senior Center; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
