DiAngelo Lamont Joynes, Jr., known as “Big D”, was born on May 2, 1998. On April 15, 2021, at the age of 22, DiAngelo passed away at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a 2017 graduate of Indian River High School. DiAngelo loved to wrestle and play football at Selbyville Middle School but due to his health issues, was unable to nurture those talents. Big D was a beloved fiancé’, son, brother, dad, nephew, grandson, cousin and friend, who loved to entertain and make people laugh. He enjoyed having a good time and spending time with his children. DiAngelo is survived by his loving parents, Marlo Joynes and DiAngelo Joynes, Sr., of Millsboro, Delaware; fiancé; Brianna Harmon, of Greenwood, Delaware; 2 sisters, Marissa Joynes and Cassandra Joynes, both of Millsboro, Delaware; a brother, Jeremiah Joynes of Bear, Delaware; and two beautiful daughters, Au’Bri Harmon-Joynes and Ay’La Harmon-Joynes of Greenwood, Delaware. DiAngelo was preceded in death his maternal grandmother; and paternal grandparents. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bennie Smith Funeral Home by calling Cindy Taylor at 302-632-8532.
