Leonne Milbourne Obituary

Leonne M. Milbourne was a charming and devoted Christian born in Limbe, Haiti, on August 28, 1957. Her parents were Decius and Elmira Mereusand. Leonne had 4 siblings,(Bernadin, Dominque, Eugene, and Rose Pierre Mereus). To the great sadness of her family and loved ones, she departed this life on July 25, 2019. Upon completion of her primary education in Haiti, Leonne went on to work in the Dominican Republic as a caregiver for the elderly. Leonne would later have the opportunity to immigrate to the United States where she continued building her life and accomplishing her dreams. She would soon settle on the Delmarva Peninsula after residing in both Florida and New York. Leonne also had a love of fashion and launched her career as an entrepreneur owning her retail business, Fashion World, with 2 locations in Hurlock, MD and at the Flea Market in Laurel DE. Her clothes were beautiful and unique, often being one of a kind selection. However, bigger than her love of clothing was her love of God and family. Leonne was a dedicated member of First Haitian Baptist Church, in Seaford Delaware, where she served as the church secretary for many years. On July 5, 1986, Leonne and Sylvester O. Milbourne were united in holy matrimony. They were married for 33 years until her passing. Among Leonne other talents, she spoke four languages: Creole, French, Spanish, and English. Leonne was a kind-hearted, outspoken, and feisty woman. Leonne loved her family, friends, and her church. Additionally, she supported her family in Haiti and taught her children to never forget where their family came from. In her leisure time, Leonne enjoyed helping others, singing, dancing, cooking, and watching television; specifically crime, nature, and game shows. Leonne loved and cherish all those around her especially her children; Inise Mayfield (Cheaa), Jenny Mereus Monplaisir(Patrice), Dominique Milbourne, and her 6 grandchildren (Charlotte and Isabelle Mayfield, Nikayla, Jesse-Jeanne, Patrice “PJ” , and Josie Monplaisir. Leonne was loved and will be missed by her church family, immediate and distant relatives and lifelong friends.
