Charles Albert Ray, age 79, of Lake Panasoffkee, FL, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Fletcher, North Carolina to Walter Ray and Margie (McFalls) Ray. Charles retired after serving 26 years as a Master Sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of First Church of God Bushnell. He was predeceased by son, Charles Michael Ray and step-son, Terry Hunt. Charles is survived by his wife of 22 years, Myrtie Ray; daughters: Alyssa Hobbs of Sneads Ferry, NC, Kimberly (Eric) Corbin of Ruskin, FL; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brothers: Randy Ray of TX, Bobby Ray of SC; sister: Judy Ray of NC; and step-daughter: Judy (Walt) Deppy of Albemarle, NC. He will be laid to rest in Sea Lawn Memorial Park, Hampstead, North Carolina. Local arrangements entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home.
