Nathaniel Brown Obituary

Nathaniel Brown, Sr. was born on February 17, 1942 in Quitman, Georgia to the late Dan Brown, Sr. and Minnie Lee Brown. With an elementary school education, Nathaniel was determine to make something of himself and he did just that. He started out being a construction worker, then he became a loving husband and father of nine children.


Nathaniel didn’t stop there, he was determine to reach higher goals in his life, he started his own business, Brown Concrete, Inc. and he became a mentor and a father figure for young men in the community by teaching them the trade that made him a success in life. Most of all he made sure that his sons was able to carry on that trade and reach higher goals for themselves and be greater than he was in this life. Which led his sons and daughters to be the great business owners men and women they are today.


On Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 3:58pm with his family, God called Nathaniel home. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ms. Jacquelyn A. Brown; five brothers, Ulysses, Wallace, Dan Jr., Charlie Sr. and Larry Brown; two sisters, Annie B. Gilbert and Minnie B. Dowell.


Nathaniel leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted wife of 56 years, Carolyn G. Brown; eight children, Victor C. Brown, Sr. (Cheryl Lynn), Reginald Brown, Sr. (Cynthia), Laletta Y. Dawson (Bernard), Nathaniel Brown, Jr. (Perdita), George A. Brown, Sr., Frederick Brown, Sr. (Sabrina), Keith A. Brown, Sr. (Shenita), Kecia A. Brown and Englia Ray; 30 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, John W. Brown, Sr. and Willie F. Brown, Sr. (Burnese); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


The funeral service for Nathaniel Brown, Sr. will be held 11:00 am SATURDAY, June 23rd, 2018 at the Emanuel COGIC 6326 Dunn Ave. The visitation will be held 5 -7:00 pm, Friday, at the mortuary.
