Don V. Hahnfeldt

Don V. Hahnfeldt, 73, of The Villages, Florida passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at The Villages Regional Hospital after a valiant fight with cancer. Don was born in Pittsburgh, PA, raised in Indiana, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. He was educated in Pennsylvania and had degrees from Roosevelt University, Chicago, Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, Naval Reactors and Valdosta State, Georgia. His education prepared him for his 32 years served in the United States Naval Submarine Service and later in his business life and public service. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward F. and Dolores Hahnfeldt and his brother, Jon Hahnfeldt. He is survived by his wife, Cheryle Hahnfeldt; daughters, Christiana (Paul) Damm, Katherine (Scott) Devitt, Jennifer (David) Humphreys; brothers, Edward Hahnfeldt III and Alfred Hahnfeldt; sister, Suzan Hahnfeldt; grandchildren, John Damm, Annaliese Damm, Madalyn Devitt, Thomas Devitt, Drew Devitt, Henry Humphreys, E. Cullen Humphreys; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Cadwallader, Jean (Jan) Kobeski; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. <h3>Services</h3> A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Summerfield, FL on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 11:00 am. <h3>Inurnment</h3> Inurnment will take place at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. <h3>Memorial Donations</h3>In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the dolphinscholarship.org or donate to The Villages Regional Hospital Foundation at thevillagesreigionalhospital.org
