Addison Lane Obituary

On March 11, 1943 God blessed this world with a gift, Addison Sunny Lane. Was born to the late palmer and Maxie Lee Lane in Millen, Georgia. At an early age Addison put away childish things and started his life living as an adult. When he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida is when his life began not only as man, but also a husband and father, that’s where he met 1st wife (Genetha Bell-Lane); bringing into the world Yvonne, Richard, Ellen, and Rose. As a family they grew and loved each other. Mr. Lane divorced and soon married his 2nd wife Evelyn Williams-Lane who preceded him in death. He became a father to Clinton Von Aiken and Jonathan Lane.  Addison was a man who gave it to you straight and wouldn't give it to you any other way. He lived life like no other and enjoyed the amenities of it. And even through his long journey he lived everyday loving his family and children all the same. He retired from the City of Fort Lauderdale from a work related injury and from that day forth Addison looked at life differently and got right with God. He fought for a long time in his fight with old age but he left knowing that it was victory knowing he left this world knowing his children were all ok. On the morning of September 12, 2015 God called him home. He leaves to mourn his passing children Yvonne Wimbs (Herbert) of North Carolina, Richard Lane (Evelyn) Fort Lauderdale, and Ellen Lane of Fort Lauderdale Rose Walker (Tony) Arkansas, Jonathan Lane and Clinton Aiken of Fort Lauderdale.  Grandchildren: Brandon Wimbs, Jasmine Wimbs, Tiarra Smith (Joshua), Artie Edmond, Tanica and Jada; Great-grandchildren: Ta'Naysia and Joshua; two Sisters: Bobbie Ann Walden who preceded him in death and Myrtistene Lane of Fort Lauderdale. With a whole line of nieces and nephews cousins, in-laws, and friends who love and will cherish their memories of him.
