Allean Peoples Lauderdale Lakes, Florida Obituary

Allean Peoples

Allean Smalls Peoples-Grier was born February 12th, 1923, in Denmark, SC. She was the second of nine siblings born to the late George and Reatha Bell Smalls. In 1951, Allean and her late husband James, relocated to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Allean, who was affectionately known as Aunt “Sis,” was a loving and caring woman. She was loved and respected, not only by her family, but by everyone who encountered her. Allean dedicated her life to Christ and the Adventist principles when she joined the Mount Olivet SDA Church in 1962, under the leadership of Elder Ralph A Sloan. In her life’s work, Aunt “Sis” worked as a domestic engineer for nearly 50 years for Judges W. Herb and Estella Moriarty. Allean enjoyed serving her church as a sabbath school primary teacher, a member of the Adventist Community Service, Deaconess, and Usher Board. Although Aunt “Sis” always said she wanted to live to be 100, on Monday, April 27, 2020, God and his angels gently closed her eyes in rest, awaiting the first resurrection. Aunt “Sis” will be missed, but never forgotten. Allean was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille Peoples, Julia Mae Harrell, and Lula Mae Moody; brothers, George Smalls, Jr., Nathan Smalls, Sr., and Nathaniel Smalls. She leaves to cherish her memory: sister, Mamie Lou Salley of Lauderhill, FL; brother, Felones (Ruth) Smalls of Denmark, SC; sister-in-law, Laura Smalls of Denmark, SC; a loving and caregiving niece, Beverly Salley Scott of Lauderhill, FL; nephews, Willie E. Salley of Lauderdale Lakes, FL, and Earnest Salley of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; goddaughters, Deidre Rachel-Carey and LaShawnda Salley; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
