Arnold Prosper Obituary

On Sunday, May 17, 2020, Arnold J. Prosper (JONAS), the first born of Ms. Sephora S. Pierre, a loving person and a man who cares for his family and friends, went to be with the Lord at the age of 61. He was passionate about sports, particularly soccer, which he used to play well. He had a business mindset. He was a helper. Most importantly, he loved the Lord Jesus and gave his life to Him. Jonas loved beautiful things in life. He was passionate about his clothes, shoes, and jewelries. He used to be considered, among his peers, as one of the best looking guys. Jonas was the guy that everybody would want to be friends with. He was a popular guy in his school and everywhere that he used to go. Arnold J. Prosper was born in Saint Louis Du Nord, Haiti, to parents, Saintilien Prosper and Satilia S. Pierre. Jonas grew up in Haiti, and during his youth, he migrated to the United States, where he spent most of his life. In Haiti, he used to be part of a soccer team (Les Freres du Club PEPSI); some of them are here today to celebrate his life. Jonas could spend hours, if not the whole day, talking about soccer. He was a competitor; he didn’t want to lose in life. Even when he went down with that terrible sickness, he kept on fighting back. Sometimes, even we, as family and friends, didn’t how he could still be alive. That Saturday when he had the heart attack while having dialysis, all of us thought that was it, but he put up a fight and gave one more week. HE WAS A FIGHTER. He left all of us one thing to remember – when the things in life get tough, DO NOT STOP LIVING – keep on living that gift that God gives us (the gift of life). He loved life. If Jonas had the ability to speak right now, he would tell us that there is a brighter future; keep on living with faith and expectations. Jonas always stood firm for what he believed. That’s why most of us have had some disagreements with him, including the writer of this life’s reflections. All of us love him for his tenacity, for his message of hope, for his kindness, and mostly, for his open heart to help others in different aspects in life. He was generous man with a genuine smile. All of us today, family and friends we can say what a great guy he was. A GENEROUS MAN WITH A GENUINE SMILE
