I will be forever grateful, Carl was a presence in my life. He lived a great life, he was such a humble,
confident and loving man that, to say he didn’t walk in love would be a crime. My tribute to my husband.
“He was an elegant man, very special, a grand man. A husband, provider, a great friend, motivator and
educator.” He encouraged me to go to school and, I graduated with my degree in Christian Counseling.
Later, Carl followed and graduated with a Certificate of Completion in Computer Applications for
Business & Social Networking.
Carl first job was a teacher at Couva Elementary in Trinidad, he briefly worked as a Surveyor, and then
got a job as an off Shore Rig Hand at Dominion Oil. Carl moved to NY in 1967 and worked managing a
liquor store while attending school. He was particularly proud of his achievements when he completed
high school as an adult. He then went on in 1986 to achieve his Bachelors of Science Degree from Iona
College NY at age 54 yrs. With his newly acquired Bachelor’s Degree, Carl started his career on Wall St,

At his retirement, Carl loved to travel! Home to Trinidad was his favorite place. He loved to do vacations

He had a fond love for baking bread which he shared with the neighbors. I knew the time came for him to

be the life of the party (Mighty Sparrow Jean and Dinah- Laughter). He loved Football and CNN News.
Carl was a very private person and yet he made friends along the way Ian Jameson, Lennard Johnson,
John his barber and many others. Carl was an active member of the Ft Lauderdale United States Power
