After a protracted battle with cancer, Carrie Bell Roach passed away in North Broward Medical Center on September 3, 2016 in Pompano Beach, Florida at the age of 69. Carrie Bell Roach was born on June 8, 1947 in Sylvania, Georgia to Iren Doe and the late Carey Doe. She had a smile that would light up a room. After she overcame breast cancer she wasn’t afraid of anything anymore. She didn’t let cancer keep her down and she lived her life joyfully. She was a very giving and caring woman. Carrie Bell loved her family. She attended church at Eagles Life Ministry with Bishop and Apostle Cooper. She was an active member of her church and she never wanted to miss a day. She birthed five children: Doris Striggles, Darrell Roach (Lois Brown), Robin Smith, Maliska Parrish, and the late Franklin Smith. She had a bond that was unbreakable with all six of her sisters: Ella Mae Jones (Harmon Jones), Catherine Johnson (Willie Johnson), Betty Smith, Ann Drummer, Leona Ruffin, and Eleanor Long (Jimmy Long). Carrie Bell has nineteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; godchildren Charlie Parker, Endia Greene and Donna Syms; and a host of loving family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
