Charles Williams

Charles Edwin Williams was born on September 8, 1957 to Elder Sammie L. Williams and the late Evangelist Rotherlene Ross Williams in Pompano Beach, FL. Charles attended Broward County Public Schools, commencing at Piper High School in 1976. Charles had a passion for cooking and baking, he was known in the neighborhood for his famous cakes and pies. He was a frontline cook for Betty’s Soul Food Restaurant for over twenty years. Charles took his heavenly wings and flew away on January 7, 2016. He leaves to cherish his memories his parents Elder Sammie L. Williams; wife Betty Williams; three sisers: Shirlene Natson (Foye), Edith Williams, and Elaine Williams (Lainie); two brothers: Sammie L. Williams Jr. and Clarence Williams; five step-sisters: Joyce Williams, Rose Bryant, Carolyn McCray, Betty Summers and Annette Robinson; two step-brothers: Sammie Brown and Kelvin Brown, all of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; four aunts: Rosetta Herring, Martha Crossburn, Inez Walker and Sara (Honey Bunch) Hayward; close friends: Tony and Cynthia Swan, Angela Fluellen; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Although Charles is gone he will never be forgotten, for his memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who love him. A special thanks to the Shipman family for their support.
