Curtis J. Barbary

Curtis James Barbary was born on December 8, 1954 in Edison, Georgia to the late Author Barbary and Louise Barbary. At a very young age, he and his family relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he attended Larkdale Elementary and graduated from Piper High School, starting his journey into adulthood. In 1973, he enlisted in the U. S. Army and the Reserve. Curtis later returned home to his family and began a career with the city of Lauderhill, Florida. Shortly after, he went on to marry his childhood sweetheart, Gwendolyn Barbary, and to that union of marriage one child was born, Chicquia Barbary. Curtis was a kind and generous man, he didn’t mind helping his family or close friends when in need. Curtis loved his family and the family loved Curtis; and you could always count on him to make you laugh. Preceded in death: Parents - Author and Louise Barbary Sister - Grady Williams Brother - Author Jr. Barbary Brother - Joseph Barbary Brother - James Barbary (Sister-in-Law - Eve Barbary) On Sunday February 23, 2020, Curtis Barbary entered into eternal rest when God dispatched his angels to take him from earth to glory. He leaves to cherish his memories: Daughter - Chicquia Barbary Sisters - Berthel G. Young (Johnnie Golphin), Louise Ward, Elaine Barbary, Mary Barbary, Yolanda Carpenter (Roland Carpenter) Brother - Darnell Barbary Uncle - OC Barbary And host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
