Executive Mother Dorothy Irene Smart was born to the late Cornelius Johnson and Mother Willie Mae Lyals on January 20, 1952 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She completed her primary and middle school education at Broward County Public Schools and graduated from Dillard High School in 1970. She worked for RX Lens. Dorothy Irene Johnson married Daniel Smart Sr. on October 28, 1972 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In 1970, Executive Mother Smart accepted Christ in her life at the Pure Church of Righteousness (PCR) and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost under the leadership of the late Bishop Mose & Mary Jane Williams. At PCR, she served faithfully as a Missionary, an Evangelist, and choir Director. She will be remembered for preaching a memorable message entitled “After Prayer Something Happened.” On March 15, 2001, Executive Mother Smart moved her membership to Jerusalem Bound Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop Daniel Smart Sr., the Presiding Prelate of Our Daily Bread Gospel Tabernacle (ODBGT). Her ministry roles at Our Daily Bread Gospel Tabernacle included Evangelist, President of the Women’s Ministry, District Mother of West and North Florida and Executive Mother. In addition to her ministry roles, her greatest ministry was that of the role of mother and house wife. She loved and served her family in the purest example of God’s love.m Preceded in Life Parents: Cornelius Johnson and Mother Willie Mae Lyals 2 uncles: Clarence Gary, Roosevelt Gary 2 aunts: Lillian Boger, Annie Vera Phillips Cousin: Dorothy Ann Hampton Niece: Winter Mills She leaves to cherish her memories: a beloved husband, Bishop Daniel Smart Sr.; four loving sons; Prophet Sylvester Adrian Jones of Ansonia, C), Willie Smart of Atlanta, GA, Brian LaKeith Smart of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Bishop Daniel Bernard Smart of Atlanta, GA; one daughter: Tina Worthy of Tampa, FL; one sister: Cheryl Lewis (Lannye); two brothers: William and Quanky Johnson of Fort Lauderdale; four grandchildren, Marcus Boykin, Malaka Boykin, Brian LaKeith Smart Jr. and Jordan Smart; three nieces: Chelsea Bellamy-Goins, Courtney Bellamy-Goins and Casey Bellamy-Goins; three great nieces: Lenaysia Bellamy-Moore, Denver Mills and Khalani Wooten; one great nephew: Primes Jest Jr. one uncle: Bishop Melvin Gary Sr.; three aunts: Evangelist Bernice Jones, Mother Cora Lee Gary and Evangelist Barbara Jean Handberry, all of Fort Lauderdale; three godchildren: Pastor James Ervin Gary Sr., Shawanda Bryant and Sheniya Henderson and a host of cousins, family and friends.
