Erma Stephanie Streete also
known as ‘Boss Lady’ passed away
peacefully at home on Monday,
May 26, 2020, surrounded by her
loved ones.
Erma was born on November 12,
1956, in Belmont, St. George’s,
Grenada to Leroy Coutain and
Esther Streete. Erma moved to
the United States when she was
a young woman with a desire and a strong-will to be
successful. She had big dreams and was able to see them
come to fruition. Erma worked very hard and made so
many sacrifices to accomplish her goals in life. She did so
much for her family and friends, and wanted everyone
around her to be happy.
Erma loved the spot light and was often the life of the
party. She was dubbed the “Queen of Carnarsie” and a
“Grenadian Legend.” She loved getting dressed up and
looking beautiful, traveling, and fashion as well. Erma
was a genuine person with a heart of gold. She gave so
much to so many people, sometimes people she had just
met, giving them a place to live or even a job, She was
truly loved and will be missed by many people.
Erma leaves behind to cherish her memories: her
life partner, Fredrick Henry; two sons, Suleooay and
Samory Streete; daughter-in-law, Ashley Streete; two
grandchildren, Ashynti (Strowder) and Kobe Streete;
step-mother, Doris Coutain; brothers, Clinton and
Brian Coutain; sisters, Hafsah Abdullah, Cheryl Streete,
Catherine Bernard, Susan Dyer, Deanne Reddick, Sandra,
Allison, Nicole, and Brenda Coutain; and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Erma is preceded in death by her father, Leroy Coutain;
mother, Esther Streete; and sister, Yolanda Streete Aidoo.
