Ervin Hallman

Ervin Roosevelt Hallman aka ‘Jr. or Big E’ was born October 26, 1954 to Roosevelt Hallman (deceased) and Constance Hallman in Dixie, GA. The second of six children (Minnie, Nina, Phillip (deceased), Arthur ‘Lee Lee’ (deceased), and Walter), Ervin and his family moved to Florida in the mid-1950s and relocated to Pompano Beach, FL in 1959. In his early years, Ervin attended Sanders Park Elementary. Ervin attended Blanche Ely High school for a short period; however, due to desegregation, Blanche Ely High was closed and Ervin choose to become a Buck and a member of the first graduating class of Deerfield Beach High School, Deerfield Beach, FL, 1972. While attending Deerfield Beach High School, Ervin played football, participated in the marching band and Orchestra. His musical talents led him to play the sousa phone, baritone, and the tuba. Upon graduation, Ervin worked as a sous chef and attended Sheridan Technical College where he obtained his certificate in phlebotomy. During this time, Ervin’s father, branched off to start his construction business, Hallman & Sons, Inc. Ervin joined his father in the family business where he became the lead heavy equipment operator. In working in the family business Ervin was able to purchase his first Corvette. Ervin loved fast cars. Throughout his life he purchased three Corvettes and one 300zx. As a result of a tragic accident where he lost his brother ‘Lee Lee’, his father decided to dissolve the family business. Ervin continued to work faithfully for several other construction companies as the lead heavy equipment operator until he became disabled. Ervin had a love for God, his family, sports, and fast cars. Ervin had a knack for taking things apart, putting things together, and having his siblings and family to test the electrical things he put back together. On November 13, 1975, Ervin and Pamela Simmons had a daughter together, Lynea Nicole Hallman. Ervin married Janicey Dexter (deceased), 1987 – 1998. Through their union, Ervin and Janicey had their son, Ervin Roosevelt Hallman III (aka ‘Lil Ervin’). After the death of his wife Janicey, Ervin would later marry Victoria Younger (deceased), 2004 – 2012. In addition to his biological children, Ervin had two children he raised as his own, DeRicki Jones and Alexia Dexter. Ervin leaves to cherish his memories: His beloved mother: Constance Hallman; his loving children: Lynea Bostic (Jimmy ‘Bo’), Ervin Hallman (‘Lil Ervin’), DeRicki Jones (Stephanie), and Alexia Dexter; a special daughter: Kelline Faustin; his siblings: Minnie ‘Reet’ Williams, Nina ‘Elaine’ Hallman, Walter ‘Buster’ Hallman; his grandchildren: Brittany Bostic, Jordan Bostic, Jermaine Spencer, Er’maya Hallman, DeReKa Jones, and Mikayla Jones; his sister-in-law: Celia Hallman; also a host of other relatives and friends.
