Life Reflections Eugene Thomas Mays, Jr., was born May 5, 1961, in Sarasota, FL. He was the beloved first- born of the late Eugene Thomas Mays, Sr., and Voncile Mays. He confessed Christ at an early age and became a believer of God. He was a member of The Faith Center in Sunrise, FL, where he exhibited unwavering faith. Eugene met his soulmate, Donna Jarrett-Mays, in 2013, at her sorority’s White Hot Party. A few years later, they were married on May 24, 2015. For the past seven years, Eugene and Donna enjoyed traveling, eating, and spending every day and moment together. Eugene had a joyful spirit and a big heart. He dedicated his life to helping others as a caregiver and helping the youth in detention centers. Encouragement and mentorship were his keys to helping them change their lives. With his unique style and creative fashion, Eugene was a trendsetter in every way. From his stylish hats, to his sporty jackets, down to his distinct array of shoes, he was always coordinated, making his showstopping mark and setting the trend. Eugene was also an open-minded and supportive entrepreneur with his wife. Together they set out to help others in everything they did. His life on Earth has truly been a blessing, as a dedicated and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. Eugene Thomas Mays, Jr., leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Donna Jarrett-Mays, his mother, Voncile Mays of Sarasota, FL; one brother, Frederick Mays (LaRhonda) of Lancaster, TX; two sisters, Juanita Davis (Art) of Aurora, CO, and Permela Hargrove (Amos) of Rowlett, TX; and three children, Dyon Mays, Eugene Thomas Mays III (Vanessa) of Sarasota, FL, and Kashante “Gina” Mays of Tampa, FL. He also leaves seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
