Hilton T. Lane was born in Belle Glade, FL, on
February 1, 1962. His family moved to Fort
Lauderdale, FL, in 1966, where he attended
school and subsequently graduated from
Plantation High School in 1980. Hilton enlisted
in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany
as an Engineer Specialist. He served in the Army
for four years.
Hilton succumbed to his battle with lung cancer and passed away
Saturday morning, October 31, 2020, with his mother by his side.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James C. Plair.
He leaves to mourn: his mother: Flora Foulkes Gelsey; two sisters:
Iris Lane-Eubanks of Lauderdale Lakes, FL, and Alesa Lane of Coral
Springs, FL; one brother: Reginald M. Lane, Sr. (Libby) of Lauderhill,
FL; two stepsisters: Thelma Franklin
(James) of Boynton Beach, FL, and
Gwendolyn Wiggins (Bobby) of Pompano
Beach, FL; two stepbrothers: Edward
Gelsey, Jr., and Tony Gelsey, both of Fort
Lauderdale, FL; two nieces: Aisha McNair
(Reginald) of Coral Springs, FL, and
Tamara Lane of Fort Lauderdale, FL; four
nephews: Christopher Jade Demetrius
Plair and Julius Jarreau Plair of Raleigh,
NC, Reginald M. Lane, Jr., of Orlando,
FL, and Ryan McNair of Coral Springs,
FL; one aunt: Rozena Dawson of Staten
Island, NY; and a host of relatives in South
Florida, Nassau, Bahamas and New York.
