Ivin Kenneth Guishard Obituary

IVIN KENNETH GUISHARD was born on August 11, 1956, to Charles and Ida Guishard in Curacao, Netherland Antilles. He migrated to St. Kitts at the tender age of four, where he attended the Molineux Government School and received his education. It was a very di cult time back then to raise ten children, so Ivin being the sixth child, was determined that he would protect and defend his sisters at any cost, thus becoming very “overprotective.” Shortly after completing school, he was employed in the Retail Industry, where he managed his friend’s Bakery/Supermarket. Still not satis ed with this type of work, he continued his quest and eventually embarked in the eld of Construction, where he excelled in Framing - the steel work for buildings Ivin migrated to St. omas, U.S.V.I. in 2003, and continued working. Sometime later, when his Aunt Ellen became ill, Ivin became her care- taker and this he did lovingly, until her death. In September 2019, he relocated to Ft. Lauderdale and resided with his sisters, Inez and Jacqueline, after being diagnosed with the dreadful disease, cancer. Jacqueline assumed the major responsibilities, she cared for and ensured that he received the necessary medical attention. roughout his illness, Ivin could be heard singing and praying. Recently, he underwent a procedure and a few days later, his health began to decline rapidly; however, he continued praising God until he no longer could. Ivin is survived by seven brothers, Lloyd, Keith (Veronica), Basil (Aneta), Noel, Glenn, Larry, and Selvin; six sisters, Bernice (Michael) Frederick, Inez (Peter) Welcome, Shirley (Pedro) Brown, Sharon (Emmanuel) Pierre, Jacqueline (Rudolph) Anderson, and Karissa; nieces, nephews, and cousins, here and abroad; special friends, Randolph Prentice and family in St. Kitts, Livingston, Valerie Pencheon, Ian, Irette, Haynesworth, and Vallen in St. omas, USVI. ough he will be missed, we are comforted that he made his calling and election sure. Sleep on! Take your peaceful rest until we meet again!
