Jasmine was born as a premature baby on November
23, 1996, at Brandon Regional Hospital in Brandon,
Florida, to parents, Asia Smith (Fair) and Michael
Davis. Jasmine attended Seagull Childcare Center,
where the teachers loved her spirit and personality
while her mother accomplished her goal of receiving her
high school diploma. Jasmine enjoyed watching movies
such as “The Players’ Clubs” and “I Got the Hook-Up”.
Comedies were her favorite movies to watch. These were
some of her favorite television shows: “Teletubbies”,
“Barney and Friends”, “SpongeBob”, and “Blues
Clues”. She enjoyed listening to music such as “I Like
It” by Sammie and “So Anxious” by Ginuwine. She was
extremely excited about dogs.
The odds were stacked against her early in life, at the
age of 3, Jasmine was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and
over the years, she began to have some complications.
Nevertheless, God had another plan for Jasmine. She
thrived to the best of her abilities. Remembering her is
easy. So pure, the bond cannot be broken. Jasmine was
unique, joyful, and always happy. She had beautiful,
dark brown eyes and a vibrant laugh and smile. Jasmine
refused to give up. She fought until she earned her angel
wings. Life holds so many facets; this earth is only one.
She lived a short life but left a mark on the hearts of all
the people who came into contact with her while on this
journey.
She leaves to witness her homegoing: her mother, Asia
Fair (Anthony) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; a loving
father, Michael Davis of Plant City, Florida: a sister,
Sharmani Calhoun; two brothers, Frederick Martin
and Jeremiah Martin of Fort Lauderdale, Florida;
grandparents, Cynthia Demps of Fort Lauderdale,
Florida, William Smith, Velverine Davis and Kenneth
Cox, Sr. (deceased), all of Plant City, Florida; two
stepsisters and five stepbrothers of Miami, Florida;
and a host of aunts, great-aunts, uncles, great-uncles,
cousins, and many other sorrowing loved ones.
