Josephine Jackson Obituary

Ms. Josephine B. Jackson was born on August 15, 1939 to the late Richard Brown and the late Susie Bell Brown in Millen, Georgia. Josephine was a proud graduate of Sophronia Tompkins High School class of 1959 in Savannah, Georgia (she participated in the band as a majorette). After high school she moved to South Florida residing in Fort Lauderdale. She worked for the School Board of Broward County, Juvenile Detention Center and the United Cerebral Palsy for many years. Upon retirement Josephine severed as a Foster Grandparent at Castle Hill Elementary School. She was a dedicated member of the Mount Bethel Baptist Church, were she assisted with the “Helping Hand Club”. Josephine loved her family and seeing her grandchildren/great grands was a joy. Her favorite activities were dining at Golden Coral, shopping and keeping herself pampered. She will truly be missed by all that knew her. Preceding her in passing, was the late Gary Jackson (son), Sabrina Jones (granddaughter) and Leslie Robinson (niece). She leaves to cherish her memories, children: Tonya Brown of Atlanta Georgia (Geoffery Gowdy son-in-law), Pamela Jackson Tolbert of North Lauderdale (James Tolbert son-in-law) and Clyde McCown of North Lauderdale (Tara McCown daughter-in-law). Grandchildren: Carl Wilson, Jermaine Jackson, Ebony Jackson, Shanina Williams, Quinton Jackson, Patrick James, Jasmine Jackson, Victoria Jackson, Carmon McCown, Matthew McCown, Asia McCown, Aunt: Odessa Connor, Uncle: Benjamin Gwyn, Nephews: Anthony Heard, Alphonso Shepard and a host of great grandchildren, cousins and close friends.
