Jucretia Leilani Roberson

Jucretia Leilani Roberson was born on June 3, 1973, to the parentage of Judge Roberson III (who preceded her in death on April 7, 2020) and Cynthia Regina Johnson-Roberson. On Friday, July 17, 2020, Jucretia transitioned to her Heavenly Home. Jucretia was a happy addition to our family; she was tiny, so her grandfather called her PeeWee. Jucretia had a beautiful, captivating smile, always friendly, always reaching out to help someone else. When Jucretia was young, she loved teaching her dolls. She would sit her dolls on the floor in her room, place notebook paper on their laps, her closet door was her chalkboard. When cleaning her room, I would find notebook paper under her bed with grades she had given her dolls. I always knew Jucretia would be an educator. Jucretia accepted Jesus as her personal Savior at an early age, and she was a member of The Faith Center. During Jucretia’s high school years at Blanche Ely High School, she was a member of the drill team, cheerleading squad, and chorus. Her special friends in high school were Shika Johnson, Arie Wilcox-Tifton, and Sophia ”Cookie” Brown- Anderson. After graduating from Blanche Ely High School in 1991, she attended Florida Memorial University and Broward Community College. In 1996 , she became the director of Cynthia & JuNica’s PreSchool in Pompano Beach, FL. Jucretia earned her (CDA) Child Development Associates, certification in Early Childhood Education. Jucretia’s interaction with childcare monitors and other childcare professionals was always cordial , and she left a positive impression. Her love for children, parents, and staff was genuine, and she was a dedicated educator for 24 years. Another great educator has earned her wings and transitioned to her Heavenly Home. Jucretia was a doting mother. Her sons, Curvonni and Maurice, were her life. She was very active in their education and extracurricular activities; their needs always came first. Her mission was to raise honorable, accountable, productive men. As your mother, Jucretia, I say, “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.” Eight months ago, God blessed Jucretia with a beautiful granddaughter, Cassidy La’Nia McClendon. Cassidy was the daughter Jucretia never had. When she held or looked at Cassidy, you could see the love bursting from her entire being. Jucretia was an excellent cook. When we had family gatherings, the request was always collard greens and oxtails. DELICIOUS!!! Jucretia, your family misses you so much. We are trying to be strong, but the HURT is so deep. LOVING YOU FOREVER: your sons, Curvonni Alexander McClendon and Maurice Christopher Major Matthews; granddaughter, Cassidy La’Nia McClendon; Cassidy’s mother, Shania Williams of Plantation, FL; mother, Cynthia ReGina Johnson-Roberson of Plantation, FL; sisters, Canica Dillard-Washington of Plantation, FL, and Erica (Antonio) Johnson of Warner Robins, GA; adopted sister, Ophelia Strachan (Nathan) Allen of Margate, FL; brothers, Micah (Kimberly) Roberson, Christopher N.
