McKinley Hudson Obituary

Eighty-three years, 10 months, and 27 days ago on Friday, February 28, 1936, Marion McKinley Hudson was born to both the late George Washington McKinley Hudson and Miriam Blackwell Hudson in the Township of Plowden Mills, Clarendon County, South Carolina. Trained up with love, discipline and faith, McKinley was a member and served at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Alcolu, SC; was educated in Clarendon County Public Schools and reared with great wisdom and affection by his parents and family; all whom transitioned before him, grandparents Nonie B. Richardson Blackwell Hudson Peterson, Samuel Blackwell and Samuel Hudson; brothers, Ulysses Franklin and George Ervin Hudson. McKinley’s heart was reflected in the deep love and care he had for family. He married his childhood sweetheart, Minnie Belle Taylor, in 1954. He later moved to Broward County, FL, where he worked tirelessly to provide for his young family, eventually starting the first African American Pool Plastering business in Broward County. McKinley loved animals and found great pleasure in gardening, cooking, hunting, fishing, and boating. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Throughout 65 years of marriage, he and Minnie enjoyed many joyful times with their five children, 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Fond memories of those years, months, days, hours and minutes will be forever remembered and cherished by: Veronica A.
