Silford Barrett

Silford Washington Barrett aka Lasha, Pops, Dada, Uncle Denton, as he was affectionately called, was born on March 17, 1934 to Uriah and Vida Barrett in the District of Content Gap, in the Parish of St. Andrew, Jamaica. He attended Content Gap Elementary where he attained a Satisfactory Standard of Education. In early years he boarded at a training school in Red Hills, Jamaica there he learned the trade of Mason. Denton migrated to the United States in 1985. He began working at Central Broward Construction from 1986-1999 as a Mason and Construction worker. He married his lovely wife, Daisy and he was blessed with nine wonderful children; six daughters: Shirley, Yvonne, Lucille, Janet, Millicent and Suzette; three sons: Warren (deceased), Barrington (deceased), and Wayne. He was blessed with twenty-seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren whom he cared for dearly. Throughout the years he has been a father figure to all his children’s friends who came in close contact with him. Thank you again for assisting our family in this time of need

Obituary
