Verittie Roberts Obituary

Veirittie Roberts was born in Watt Town, Saint Ann Jamaica. She was the first child of the late Evadnie and Nathaniel Reid of nine children. She was married on September 16, 1970, to Wilbert Roberts, with a total of six siblings, five of whom are living: Carol, Samantha, Sheryl, Rosemarie, and Wilbert. Audley has been living with the Lord for over twenty years, God rest his soul. From her children came offspring, with twelve grandkids and three great-grandkids. She also had sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and an overwhelming number of nieces and nephews, whom she loved and cared for. Veirittie migrated to Canada for a better life for her family, and after years of living in Canada, she decided to move to the USA with her sisters and brother: Norma, Silvia, Angela, Beverley, Dorothy, Alice, and Lionel. Her brother, Nevel, has moved on to be with the Lord for over twenty years, God rest his soul. Veirittie furthered her education and received her certification as a nurse’s assistant and worked at Workman Circle for over thirty years. She love the Lord, so she was very happy to find a church she loved, which was the City of Faith Church of God, which she attended for over two decades. She had to stop attending church because of her health, and she is deeply missed. Veirittie, or Aunt V as she’s known, was known for making her Christmas cakes or Jamaican black cakes. She would also make a mean rum cake and jerk pork, not to mention her cheese cakes was to die for. She had a stroke in 2014, which put a pause on her life. Veirittie lived a great life, but we wish she would stay with us longer. We take comfort in knowing that Veirittie is surrounded by the love of the Lord, free from pain, and will be with her son, Audley, whom she missed greatly, and will see how beautiful Heaven is together. Our mother, auntie, sister, cousin, will not be forgotten and will forever live in our thoughts.
