On June 28th, 1948, Vincent A.C. Hyatt was born to Vincent
Hyatt, Sr., and Clarissa Hyatt in Falmouth, Jamaica. “Junie,”
as he was affectionately called by family, or “Junior,” as re-
named by his wife, was the fourth child in the Hyatt family.
His formal education began at Falmouth All-Age School and
progressed to Mo-Bay Technical Institute. He then pursued
further study and obtained certification from Bennett
College, London England.
He held several positions in the electrical field at two sugar
estates: public works dept and at Kaiser Bauxite Co., where
he earned the nickname “electric”.
On June 1st, 1974, he married his fiancé, Gloria Martin.
Shortly after the birth of their second child in 1983, he
migrated with his family to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where
his older brother Reverend Noel Hyatt resided. Three years
later, the couple was blessed with a third child.
In the United States, he furthered his career as an automotive
electrician/mechanic, working at Dayco Astaldi, Capletti
Brothers and Linder Machinery. He retired from employment
in 2013, but not from helping others with electrical and
mechanical issues. He was a loving husband, devoted father/
grandfather, and a generous person to so many.
He was an avid sports fan, with keen interest and participation
in cricket, soccer, and tennis. He was highly proficient in his
career, yet very humble. He was a God-fearing man with a
passion for helping others.
On May 22, 2020, he transitioned to be with the lord. He is
survived by: his wife, and best friend, Gloria; son, Marlon;
daughters, Stacey-Anne and Christina; grand-daughter,
Annika; brothers, Horace and Michael; sister, Vinette; and
nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brother, Rev. Noel
G. Hyatt and sister, Beverly. May his soul rest in peace as we
continue to cherish the memory of him.
