Viola Welch Lauderdale Lakes, Florida Obituary

Viola Welch

Viola A. Welch “Neneta” was born on May 14, 1942 in the city of Kingston, Jamaica. She obtained her education at St. Michaels Catholic School and went to Madam Rose Leon School of Beauty Culture. She also worked at Bustmante Hospital for Children for many years. She later migrated to the United States where she resided with her daughter Maureen. She worked at the then Springtree Assisted Living now known as Brookdale Sunrise, for a few years until she retired. Viola affectionately called “Neneta” had a huge heart. She was very quiet, mild mannered, caring and humble. She could light up the room with her charming personality and a big smile, even when she was very ill. She leaves to cherish her dear memories her three loving children: Georgia “Genie” Robinson, Donnovan “Danny” Glen, Maureen “Patty” Glen Gordon; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many special friends, a host of loving family members who will miss her dearly. Viola went to be with the Lord on December 3, 2015. But her loving memories will live on forever in our hearts. She is now with her mother, Sarah Collins who preceded her in death last September 2014. Our dear mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend will never be forgotten and she will never be replaced.
