William Perkins Obituary

Pastor William Attle Perkins, a.k.a. Willie or Bill, was born to Stafford Sylvester Perkins and Louise Elizabeth Perkins (Rose), in Kingston, JA on July 29, 1947 at Victoria Jubilee Hospital. Willie as a young a boy was very talkative and earned the name “Village Lawyer”. He started his education at Rollington Town Primary and Vauxhall Secondary. At a very young age, Willie joined the Third Battalion, the Jamaica National Reserve. He also became a member of the Jamaica Fire Brigade Service working out of the York Park Fire Station in Kingston. He was a member of the St. John’s Emergency Medical Service and also a trainer of EMS personals. Amongst his students were new recruits of the Jamaica Defense Force. When he migrated to the USA in 1982 he received further training as an EMS. He also attended Queens College in New York. Willie, as a young adult, surrendered his life to Christ and started serving Him, preaching and singing. About 20 years ago, Willie got a vision about a large group of barefooted children playing somewhere in Jamaica. He was instructed to return home and minister to those children. Not long after he was asked by Pastor Stewart, who owned a church in Top Hill, JA, to pastor his church. It was not long after Pastor Perkins, along with Ms. Charmaine Dennis-Treasure started a basic school on September 6, 1999, with six small children, two boys and four girls, one becoming his adopted daughter, Naomi Perkins. Pastor Perkins transitioned to be with his Lord on November 28, 2020. Leaving behind his Wife, Erma Perkins of 50 years, Son, Christopher Perkins, Daughter, Naomi Perkins, four precious Grandsons, Sister, Vera, and four Brothers, Stafford, Winston, Phillip and Kamau Kambui.
