Alvin Hixon Nobles was born on January 18th, 1932 in Pensacola, Florida and passed away Saturday May 18, 2013.He grew up in East Pensacola Heights and was later a longtime resident of Pace, Florida. He was a graduate of Pensacola High School class of 1950. He was an employee at Monsanto for many years until he retired. He was an active member of Margaret Street Church of Christ in Milton, Florida and enjoyed the many families and friendships he and his wife were able to have through this church family. His greatest joy was spending time with the love of his life. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Ervalene Nobles. He is survived by his daughter Phyllis Renee Hassell (Dennis Hassell), his son James Fulton Nobles (Jeffrey Willard) and his sister in law Marilyn Faulk (Rufus Faulk). He leaves behind his grandchildren Amanda Hassell Neel (Tommy Neel) great grandson Toby, Katelyn Hassell and great grandson Konner, his nieces Kimberly Wilson (Kirk Wilson) and their children Shelby, Cicely and Tucker, as well as his niece Tracye Little. He was also predeceased by his youngest son David Alvin Nobles, his father Frank Fulton Nobles and his mother Laura Caar Nobles. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May the 21st from 5:00 - 8:00 at Lewis Funeral Home in Pace, FL (4777 W. Spencerfield Rd). Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May the 22nd 11:00am at Lewis Funeral Home in Pace, FL followed by a graveside service at Roberts Cemetery in Pensacola. Donations in his memory can be made to the Children's Home Society of Pensacola at 1301 N. Palafox St, Pensacola, FL 32501. Lewis Funeral Home in Pace (850-995-5702) is in charge of the arrangements.
